WARRANTY
This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights and does not affect them.
Our furniture is made from natural materials. Natural variations in colour, texture and grain, physical distressing and other features of wood furniture and its materials are part of each piece’s character and are not defects.
General limitations
- Aftermarket treatments. This warranty does not cover pieces that have had aftermarket protective treatments applied after the original packaging was opened.
- Delivery damage. Please check your goods when they arrive and tell us about any damage within [48 hours] of delivery so we can put it right.
- Normal home use only. This warranty covers normal domestic use. It does not cover damage caused by negligence, misuse, accidents, improper care or maintenance, or exposure to water, salt air or chemicals. It also does not cover use the product was not designed for, commercial use (including rental, business or institutional use) or ordinary wear and tear.
- Handmade variation. Our products are made from natural materials and are often handmade, so there will be small variations from piece to piece. These are not defects.
- Stone and marble. Stone and marble naturally contain veins, hairline fissures, pores and colour variations, and these are not defects. Stone is porous, so spills left to soak in may not come out. Use coasters or a tablecloth, and wipe up spills straight away.
- Leather. Full-grain leather is a natural product. Wrinkles, folds and scars are part of its character and are not defects. For everyday dusting, use a clean, dry cotton cloth.
- Sunlight. Sunlight will change the colour of wood, finishes and fabrics over time. This is not a defect.
- Temperature and humidity. Extreme temperature or humidity can make wood and finishes shrink, swell, warp or split, and can make glued joints fail. This damage is not a defect.
- Objects left on the surface. Lamps, vases and bowls can soften and mark the finish if left in direct contact with it for a long time. This is not a defect. Place felt or leather pads under such items to protect the surface.
- Chemicals. Products such as nail varnish remover or alcohol will damage the finish, and this is not a defect. Wipe up spills or damp straight away with a clean cloth, wiping with the grain. First wipe with a soft cloth dipped in mild soapy water and wrung out. Then wipe with a second clean cloth, and dry thoroughly with a third.
- Woven materials. Wicker, seagrass and similar woven materials are made of individual strands that can move. This can reveal unfinished areas, or the finish may peel slightly where it bridges strands. These are not defects. To clean, dust or vacuum the frame. Sponge spills with mild soapy water, then rinse and wipe dry.
- Indoor use only. Our products are not designed for outdoor use. Images on our website may show items outdoors for styling purposes only. Damage caused by exposure to outdoor conditions is not a defect.
- Colour accuracy. We aim to show our finishes, fabrics and materials accurately in our catalogues and on our website. Lighting and screen or printer quality vary, so some colour variation is possible.
FINISH INFORMATION
We offer a range of finishes. Each piece is finished by hand over several stages. We work to a consistent standard, but every piece will be unique because of the individual attention each order receives and the hand-applied techniques involved. Natural differences in wood species, grain and colour also affect the final look.
Because finishing is done to order, pieces finished together will match most closely. If you’d like several pieces in the same finish, we recommend ordering them at the same time. Striping or accenting is available on some items. This is very labour-intensive handwork, so the look will vary from piece to piece.
